What else happens at DBC for children and families?

We have a very active church for young people on Sundays, with WAYMAKERS for younger Primary and TRAILBLAZERS for our teens  We have sessions in the GARDEN after school on Thursdays.  We have the PLAYROOM on Wednesday mornings for Toddlers.

We have the GARDEN for anyone to come and volunteer on Thursdays and Sundays.  We have a LARDER community fridge that is available twice a week, that works alongside the FOODBANK.  Once a month, we have The WARDROBE that gives away clothing to anyone who would like it.

Finally, the one thing that holds us together as God's people, are the times of collective worship on Sunday and Thursday mornings.

If you need any pastoral support then please contact one of the Pastors, Katy or Philip, who are always available for pastoral and spiritual support.

Safeguarding

Downton Baptist Church is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. Our safe to grow statement is: As members of this church, we commit ourselves to the nurturing, protecting and safekeeping of all, especially children and young people, as laid out in our Policy Statement. We ask all members to be vigilant for the safety of our children in the building at all times, especially on a Sunday morning.
The safeguarding policy is under regular review and is displayed on the notice board in the foyer.  All those leading work with children and vulnerable adults have a DBS check.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello to Downton Baptist Church

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When?

We meet at our Church in South Lane, Downton, for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30 am. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team and Duty Stewards.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits following our service.. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is a disabled toilets.

Our Service

The Sunday Morning Worship service begins at 10.30 am with a warm welcome.
During the service there will be a time of sung worship, led by our band.  There will then follow readings from the bible and a talk about what we have heard.  There will be times of prayer.
Please ask if this is new for you and would like some support.

We are pleased to say we have a programme for our young people and everyone is welcome.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At an appropriate moment,  the young people will be asked to go their various groups.  You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

Lots more going on
